Motivational burnout is something that I have been experiencing with my blog recently, my posting has been less frequent and I’ve just not had the drive to come up with new content over the past couple of months.
I wanted to write this to share some things I have been doing to get my motivation back with you and hopefully it helps some of you that may be experiencing the same thing with your studies, work or career.
Taking a break
I think taking a break from the things that you’ve lost motivation for is the most important thing. Something you can’t do is force yourself to do something that you don’t necessarily enjoy anymore, taking a break and coming back more refreshed is better in the long run for your productivity. Taking a step back from things really can make a big difference, of course this isn’t always possible when it comes to your job or studying so if it isn’t possible take regular breaks within the day as this might help break things up a little.
Coming away from technology
Unplug and recharge is one of the best things to do when you’re feeling burnt out and lacking motivation. I really enjoy spending a weekend without being online and social media and getting out doing something that I enjoy, sometimes inspiration will come from unexpected places. Even something simple like going for a walk can help clear the mind a bit. I find that being on social media can be really draining and I feel much better when I restrict my time and focus on doing creative things such as writing or painting. My mind feels overall better which means I can focus on coming up with new ideas and slowly start to get some motivation back.
Don’t compare yourself to others
It’s easy to compare yourself to others especially when you aren’t feeling the best about things. Everyone is working at different paces and it’s an important thing to remember, focusing on your own achievements, even the little things is better overall.
Look out for lots more posts coming soon now my motivation is back in full swing! If you have any ideas of what you would like to see, comment below!
