Simple Ways To Help The Environment

If you’ve been watching Blue Planet II over the past few weeks, you may have seen one of the most recent episodes where a baby pilot whale died due to plastic pollution in the ocean. The Mother carried the dead whale for 2 days until eventually giving up.

This happens often and animals often consume plastic that’s floating around in the sea. The episode also showed smaller animals like turtles becoming trapped in floating debris and plastic.

Here are some very simple ways to reduce waste and become more mindful every day.

  1. Carry your cups. Buying a reusable cup to pick up your coffee and hot drinks can make a big difference. Some places even give you some money off for using one! If not, try and drink your coffee in to save that waste.
  2. Buy loose fruit and veg, tea and look for food with minimal packaging when shopping. It often can be cheaper and will reduce that extra plastic being put into the oceans.
  3. Reuse those takeaway boxes! If you do have to get some plastic for example when you order a Chinese try to reuse the boxes throughout the house.
  4. Grow your own, if you can! If you have the space growing your own fruit and veg can really help the planet.
  5. Carry a reusable plastic bag, it saves those 5ps and helps the planet.

My Favourite Lush Products

Lush is one of my favourite shops not only because they’re ethical but the products they create never seem to disappoint me.

The products I wanted to talk about are all in this lovely copper basket from Primark which all bloggers seem to have! There are no bath bombs in this post as I’ve run out so I need to pick up some more.

Sleepy is probably my favourite of all the Lush products, I put it on every night before I go to bed. It’s filled with Lavender and gets me to sleep instantly. It’s £7.95 for the pot that I picked up but a little goes a long way so the smaller pot lasts a really long time.

I also put it on my pillow cases which stays on around 3-5 days so it really helps put you in a deep sleep.

I’ve been wanting to try the Twilight spray but I can’t justify the price. The cost of Twilight is £20.00 which I think it’s quite a lot for Lush.

Snow Fairy is one of my favourite scents and it’s a shame it’s only available at Christmas time! I got the shower gel, bath bomb and the body conditioner and I try to pick it up every year if I can. It just smells like a swirl of candy floss and it almost makes my skin feel so soft.

No Drought dry shampoo is £4.95 and is a saviour for when you are in between hair wash days and need a little boost in the morning. It absorbs all of the excess oil and smells like Grapefruit and Lime. Massage it into your scalp and brush out the excess and your hair feels refreshed.

Last but not least, T For Toes. I use this stuff in my gym shoes and on my feet when I come out of the shower. It’s moisturising and really helps with any unwanted smells!

I really hope you enjoyed your post. Are there any other Lush products I should try? Tweet me or comment below!

W7 Delicious Review

When I saw this palette advertised, I noticed straight away that this is supposed to be a dupe of the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. From the colours, to the matte and shimmer shades it’s almost directly the same, just cheaper!

The cost is £12.95 which is very reasonable for an affordable brand. However it’s slightly pricey compared to the usual W7 prices. Usually you can pick up one of their palettes for around £4.00 from Savers.

I’ve tried several W7 palettes and I can see why this one is slightly more expensive, it’s got better pigment and even the brush that came with the palette is of really high quality.

Some of these shades are completely new to me. There are some safe and neutral shades in this palette but also some vibrant pinks and autumnal oranges which I was excited to try.

I admit the first few times I tried to use this palette I felt a little bit silly as I hadn’t used such bright colours before but after a few Youtube tutorials and a bit of practice these are now some of my favourite shades to wear.
