Since turning 20 (I know ooooold) I have been thinking and considering a few things that I have learnt along the way. Two decades on earth may seem quite insignificant to some, however it’s a scary thought that each year I get older and wiser.
Always check your junk email, important things are there like interviews for jobs and stuff.
Don’t deny yourself the things that you want. You’re on a diet and you want a hot chocolate? Have one because life is short.
Try new things that you are afraid of, it will help you develop as a person. I was afraid to try dance classes so I decided to try it out, wasn’t that bad.
Accept that people change. Friendships will change and so will people around you, I’ve learnt to accept when a friendship has outgrown.
When you have a set back the best thing to do is get up and try harder.
Everything will be ok in the end.
I really hate clubbing.
Call your grandparents, at least once a week, they’re wise. My Nan is always my go-to person when it comes to life advice.
I sunburn very easily.
Get things done quickly, prioritising tasks is important.
Majority of people do not have a clue what they are doing.
You have no control over the big things. These things being Donald Trump becoming president, there’s not a lot you can do about these things so don’t stress.
Keeping plants alive is challenging, even cacti.

At some point in most of our lives life will get you down and for anyone that knows me I’m a massive stress pot. I envy people who are calm and chilled about life and when things go wrong it’s easy to let things get you down.
Picking yourself up after a setback can be difficult, failure is just a part of life but it’s how you handle it is what’s important. I failed an important exam recently towards my university degree and if I’m honest I was feeling left deflated.
The important thing is what you do after the setback and these are a few things I do to help pick myself up.
Write everything down. This is what I do when I need to get my life together. I write to-do lists and make sure I know how to make things better.
Get started on things stressing you out. After making a list of all the things I need to do, I dedicate time to get them done. This helps me feel less stressed if I’ve got all my assignments done.
Think about the good things. Trying to stay positive is important, try and focus on the good things instead of the bad and it will help you stay positive.
Exercise. I’ve recently started exercising and it is making me feel a lot better in general. I either go to the gym or do a workout in my room.
Get out of the house and do something. Going for a walk, seeing friends and just getting out helps.
